From Coworkers to Best Friends

Back in March when the pandemic was starting to gather speed and we were sent home with our computer equipment to work, I had no idea what to expect. At first I was insanely excited, I remember asking about the WFH opportunities when I first started at American Profit Recovery and was a little bummed when I was informed that it wasn’t an option.

That was until I met my coworkers.

One thing I didn’t expect to happen from this pandemic was a bond that grew between me and my coworkers, I now consider them some of my best friends. When we were sent to work from home, we all shared pictures of our new home offices and some of the (quickly resolved) issues with getting everything set up and running, normal coworker talk. Over the next few months we were texting and IM’ing each other every day about how we were dealing with the new change. Soon we were exchanging TV recommendations, dinner recipes, and everything going on at home during the Stay at Home order.

Working from home was definitely an adjustment for me, and it wasn’t an easy one. I had to learn to block out distractions and really work on self-discipline to stick to the task at hand, and these friends have made this transition so much easier for me and I’m glad to have met them at American Profit Recovery.
