I was honored to help represent American Profit Recovery at last week’s ACA Convention & Expo. The ACA is an international association comprised of leaders of Credit and Collection professionals. This year was the association’s 75th anniversary celebration and it was held in Chicago. It was terrific to be able to take in the wonderful sights and sounds of Chicago shoulder to shoulder with industry leaders.
The days were spent attending several top notch educational seminars from world class speakers. The diverse group of speakers ranged from Harley Davidson CEO speaking about building his company’s reputation to top political consultant Karl Rove commenting on how the collection industry contributes positively to the overall economy of the country. Also, several motivational speakers gave some wonderful and entertaining presentations on developing and maintaining positive attitudes at home and at work. Some of the other speakers included leading attorneys who spoke about current litigation trends in the industry and suggestions on how to be compliant with regulators including the CFBP and FCC. What I took away from these seminars was the comforting feeling that APR is ahead of the curve when it comes to handling collections professionally and ethically.
After the daily seminars concluded the celebration was moved into the expo hall with many industry vendors sharing information on their products and services. I realized during the expo that APR already utilizes the most cutting edge technology to keep costs down for our clients and help us be as efficient as we possibly can to get the debt resolved.
Some of my favorite moments of the week were spent listening to stories from years past and realizing how far American Profit Recovery has come as an agency and how great this industry is as a whole. I was delighted to have the opportunity to attend such a great event and the experience I had strengthens my feelings on the career path I chose with American Profit Recovery.
