It’s Thanksgiving. Family that rarely gets to together and family that always gets together are all together! When I walked into the Michigan Job Fair on August 30th, I didn’t know what to expect. I went to a few tables talking to different companies, but one company stood out from the rest. That company was American Profit Recovery (APR). Now, I had no intentions in the beginning of becoming a Collection Specialist at a collection agency. One of my favorite times of the year at this collection agency, American Profit Recovery, is Employee Week.  It’s a time when the owners give back to the employees for all of the hard work they put in every single day.  Each year is a different theme, this year was the 90’s and I have to say dress up day was hilarious!  We attend a Tigers game every year that everyone looks forward too.  It is a good time to get to know your fellow coworkers outside of the work environment.

One of the best perks of my job is hiring and training new debt collectors.  I love talking to candidates about American Profit Recovery, and the people I work with at this collection agency.  I love explaining how enthusiastic I am about what I do for a living, and how much fulfillment I get out of my career.  I love to show them how what we do not only benefits our client’s bottom line, but also helps consumers fulfill their financial obligation in a way that ensures that they can still do business with that client.  I think it’s a tremendous compliment to the company, as well as the debt collection industry, when someone is […]

You know the cliché’.

Don’t bring your work home with you they do say.

But that’s banal, overused and all too conventional a thought.

I’m here to turn this idea on its ear, to think a new thought.

Here’s something novel and new.

I recommend you try too.

DO take up your work and bring your work home.

What would it all mean, would YOU arrive home with no groan?

For me it means days without daydreams.

Constantly busy, working hard and ice-creameries.

Employee week at the office is a blast!

So go home and raise high your household mast!
