It’s all about the Benjamin

Earlier this month the Federal Reserve began injecting the newly designed $100 note into the money supply. Now for those of us who are avid followers of @federalreserve on Twitter, this news was dropped in real time on October, 8th #TheFed, but for everyone else here’s the scoop.

According to Jerome H. Powell of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, “The new design incorporates security features that make it easier to authenticate, but harder to replicate.” Powell went on to say that “As the new note transitions into daily transactions, the user-friendly security features will allow the public to more easily verify its authenticity.”
